Have a question, a correction, or a tool you would like reviewed? Email profhlab@gmail.com. I read every message and usually reply within a couple of days.
Messages go to a person, not a ticket queue. This site is written and edited by one person — see About for who that is and why this site exists.
What to email about
- A correction. Send the page and the figure you think is wrong. This is the most useful email I get. Every number here carries the date it was checked, and prices and settings change constantly — if one has gone stale, telling me fixes it for everyone. How corrections are handled is in our Editorial & Review Policy.
- A question about an AI tool or setting. If it is the kind of question other readers share, consider asking it publicly at Ask Prof H so the answer helps more than one person. Over 130 answers are already searchable in the FAQ.
- A tool you want tested. Tell me the question you want answered about it, not just the product name. “Is it worth $20 a month for someone who writes two posts a week” is a testable question; “please review my app” is not.
- Press, research or data use. If you want to cite one of our counts, each data page carries a dated “Quote this” line with the sample size and source. Our methodology is documented at How We Count. Email if you need something we have not published.
- A lab recruiting PhD students or postdocs. Use the form at Labs Recruiting rather than email — it asks for the fields we need.
What I will not do
To save us both time, these get a polite no:
- Paid links, link insertions or link exchanges. No amount. Links here point to primary sources so readers can check my work, and selling them would destroy the only thing this site has.
- Guest posts and sponsored articles. Everything here is written and edited in-house.
- Removing a finding because you do not like it. If it is wrong, show me and I will correct it in public. If it is right, it stays.
- Promoting a product in exchange for a commission alone. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Please do not send
Medical records, account numbers, government identifiers, passwords, or anyone else’s personal information. If a question needs a document to answer, describe it instead. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
Newsletter
If you would rather be emailed than email, the Lab Report is one short issue with the month’s numbers in it. Replies come straight to me, and you can unsubscribe from any issue.
