Prof H Lab · where AI tools get tested, not hyped

Better tools. Better days.

I’m Prof. H. I teach AI and robotics for a living, test these tools with my own hands — and print the month every fact was checked.

Whether you’re 68 and opening ChatGPT for the first time, or up at midnight shipping your first website — same plain English, same respect.

THE BRIEFING · WEEKLY
  • Do Health Insurance Companies Use AI to Deny Claims? Six State Laws Require a Human. One Tells You.
Yes, and federal rules allow it with conditions. On September 9, 2026 we read the enacted text of six state laws on AI in coverage denials: all six require a licensed human to make a medical-necessity denial, one (Utah) requires the insurer to tell enrollees it uses AI at all, and none require your denial letter to say whether AI touched your case. Arizona’s bill banned AI by name; the law the governor signed does not contain the word.
  • Can I Use AI to Write a Will? Four State Laws Say the Signing Is What Counts
Yes, you can – and the drafting was never the legal part. On September 8, 2026 we read the will-execution statute in California, Florida, New York and Virginia: all four require two witnesses, and none says a word about who wrote the document. We also read the usage rules of four AI assistants (four of four require a licensed professional) and scored the 11 readable pages ranking for this question: three mention witnessing at all, and one names a number.

Read the brief No hype, no panic — just the math.

This site does one thing: it tests AI tools and reports what they actually cost and actually do — with the month the facts were checked printed on the page.

My students ask me what’s real. Readers my parents’ age ask me what’s safe. This page is my answer to both — checked by hand, dated, and corrected in public when I’m wrong.
