Affiliate Disclosure

Prof H Lab is reader-supported. This page explains how the Site is paid for and what that does — and does not — change about what you read.

How this site is funded

  • Advertising. The Site carries third-party display advertising. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising cookies work and how to opt out of personalised ads.
  • Affiliate links — none at the moment. As of the date above there are no affiliate links anywhere on this Site, and no commission is earned from any product we name. If that changes, the rules below are how we will handle it.

How we label them

If an article ever contains affiliate links, it will say so in the article itself, near the top and again beside the link – not only here on this page. That is deliberate: a disclosure you have to go looking for is not a disclosure. Several of our articles already carry the opposite note, stating plainly that they contain none.

Links we use purely as sources — a company’s pricing page, an official help article, a regulator’s filing, an employer’s own job board — are not affiliate links and earn us nothing. Most of the outbound links on this Site are of that kind.

What a commission does not buy

  • It does not change a ranking, a score, or a conclusion.
  • It does not buy a place in a comparison. Products are included because they are relevant to the question, and we name the free or cheaper option as the answer whenever it is.
  • It does not buy advance review. No partner sees an article before it is published.
  • We decline partnerships with products we would not recommend to a reader, and we say no to programmes whose practices we have written warnings about.

Which programmes we are in

None. We are not currently enrolled in any affiliate programme, so there is nothing to disclose per article. If we join one, we will name it in the article that uses it, so you can see who is paying for the link you are about to click.
