About · Prof. H

I test them, then I tell you.

A professor of AI and robotics writing for people who want the truth about these tools — including when the truth is “don’t bother.”

Prof. H — professor of AI and robotics

I’m Prof. H — a professor of AI and robotics, a former Samsung researcher, and the author of dozens of textbooks on AI and automation. I have spent two decades explaining these systems to students, and this site is the same job with the classroom removed.

I write here because the internet is full of AI advice that was true once. Prices move, free tiers close, tools get quietly worse. So every guide on this site carries the month its facts were checked, and I go back and fix them when the world changes.

How I work

Primary sources first

Vendor pricing pages, government reports, the papers themselves. If a number can’t be traced to its source, it doesn’t appear.

Everything gets a date

“Verified August 2026” is not decoration. It tells you exactly how much to trust a figure a year from now.

Corrections in public

When a widely repeated claim turns out to be invented or stale, I say so in the article — naming the number and why it’s wrong.

Limits stated plainly

Where the free tier ends, which hardware is required, what a demo does not prove. The caveats are the point.

How this site makes money — and how it doesn’t

Some articles contain affiliate or referral links, always disclosed at the top of the article. If you buy through one, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never affect a ranking, and no company can pay to appear here. Many guides — including everything in the safety and senior sections — contain no commercial links at all.
