Is Figure AI Hiring? 104 Open Roles, 12 With No Degree Asked, $26–$32 an Hour (Sept. 22, 2026)
Yes — Figure AI had 104 open roles on its own job board on September 22, 2026, and 12 of them list no degree and no years of experience. Those 12 pay $26 to $32 an hour to run, pilot and train humanoid robots. The board is also 20 roles smaller than it was a month ago.
The search results for this question are job aggregators and one line of reassurance: yes, Figure is hiring. That’s true, but it doesn’t help you apply. So we opened all 104 postings this morning and read each one. We were looking for three things: what the company pays, who can get in without a degree, and whether the board is growing or shrinking.
The most useful thing we found is a pay figure most search tools miss. 29 of the U.S. postings pay by the hour, and the rate sits in the body of the posting, not in the salary field. Our own scanner missed all 29 until we opened the postings. Those hourly jobs are where Figure’s open door is.
The short version
- 104 open roles (Sept. 22, 2026), down from 124 on Aug. 22. 30 came down, 10 went up.
- 88 in the U.S., and 82 of those are in San Jose. 0 are remote.
- 12 hands-on roles list no degree and no years: $26–$32/hr.

- 16 roles are outside the U.S., mostly São Paulo and Mexico City. All were first posted this summer.
What Figure is hiring for, team by team
Figure lists a department on every posting, so we didn’t need to group them ourselves. The biggest team hiring is not the AI lab. It is Data Operations, with 16 postings. Next come the Helix AI team (13), BotQ manufacturing (12) and commercial operations (11). Helix is the name of Figure’s robot AI model. BotQ is its robot factory.
The top of the list makes sense once you see what Figure has announced. On August 25 it described “Index,” a dataset of people doing everyday tasks. It says it has paid contributors $15 million so far. On September 17 it said Helix 2.5 completed household tasks in 30 homes it had never seen. A robot model that learns from human motion needs a lot of people making that motion. Data Operations is that team.
The spread inside one company is wide. Eleven Helix engineering postings list $200,000 to $400,000. The robot operator a few rooms away makes $30 an hour, about $62,400 a year full time. Does Figure AI hire without a degree? The 12 open doors
These are the 12 postings that list neither a degree nor a set number of years. Most ask for things you can show in an interview: stamina, focus, comfort with tools and, for operators, some experience with robots or fixing machines. If you’ve worked a warehouse, a factory line or a repair bench, you already have the background they describe.

All 12 read on Figure’s own Greenhouse board on September 22, 2026. None lists a degree or a set number of years. Pay is the base rate written in the posting. The titles link to the postings.
What the postings actually ask of your body. The morning-shift operator posting asks you to stand 8+ hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and work a mandatory weekend shift each week. The Helix Data Creator wears a sensor suit and repeats movements like walking, lifting and reaching “for up to 8 hours per shift”, on rotating day, swing and night shifts. It is a 6-month fixed-term job. Fontana adds a driver’s license. This is physical work, and the postings say so plainly.
Two postings say plainly that these are starting points. The Pilot and Data Creator postings both call the role “a strong entry point into robotics.” High performers can move up to senior and lead positions. The fixed term is the trade-off: six months, paid hourly, with no promise of more.
One door closed this month. An Apprentice Robot Service Technician posting was on the board on August 22 and is gone now. So is a Production Associate. The regular Robot Service Technician job is still open at $35 to $65 an hour, but it asks for 3+ years with complex systems. The hourly ladder, from $26 to $80
All 29 hourly postings, with the rate written in each one. The green rows are the 12 open doors above. The rungs above them are real trades. A gear machinist posting asks for 10+ years and pays $45 to $80. A fabricator asks for 5+ years and pays $45 to $70. Five Fall 2026 internships pay $35 to $45, and three of them mention a degree program.
Compare that bottom rung with the rest of our scan. The robot operator’s $26 to $32 is in the same band as the entry data center technician jobs we’ve tracked. It is below the licensed electricians building AI data centers. That fits. The operator job is the one you can get without a license or a track record.
Is Figure growing or shrinking? 124 to 104 in a month
We read Figure’s board every morning for the AI jobs tracker. On August 22 it listed 124 roles. On September 22 it listed 104, down 16%. Most of the drop happened in two steps, around September 2 and September 10. Since then the count has held at 102 to 104.
What came down tells you more than the net number. Seven hardware engineering postings closed, and five of them were about robot hands or charging. So did three global supply manager roles and an NPI engineer. Those are the jobs a company fills when a design is heading into production. Our reading is that many of these seats were filled. But a posting that comes down doesn’t tell you why, and Figure hasn’t said.
What went up points the other way. All 16 of the non-U.S. postings were first published between July 17 and August 25, 2026. Eight are in São Paulo and six in Mexico City. They include People Leads, IT, facilities and coordinators for data creators. Figure is setting up data collection outside the U.S. That is a company adding locations, not cutting back.
Two more things to know about Figure right now. It announced a compute partnership with Nscale on September 3 for up to 100,000 GPUs. And it published a notice on July 8 warning about unauthorized attempts to sell Figure stock. If someone offers you a “Figure job” together with a chance to buy shares, that is a scam.
Old posting dates: the one trap on this board
On Figure’s feed, 58 of the 104 postings show the same “updated” date, August 2, 2026. That’s a bulk refresh, not 58 new jobs. Aggregators often show that date as the posting date. The first-published dates tell a different story. Ten open roles were first posted in 2024 or earlier, and the oldest goes back to November 15, 2022.
Those are standing jobs. Figure keeps them open because it hires for them all the time. The morning-shift robot operator posting has been live since September 25, 2024, and the robot pilot since May 14, 2024. Don’t skip them because they look stale. - No degree, can stand a full shift? Apply to one operator posting in the city you can get to. San Jose has three shifts. Reno, Los Angeles and Fontana have site teams. Say in your application what you have fixed, run or maintained.
- Six months is fine? The Helix Data Creator and Robot Pilot postings are fixed-term, and both say high performers can move up. Night shift pays $3 more.

How much does Figure AI pay engineers?
45 U.S. postings publish an annual range, and the median range is $150,000 to $250,000. The 11 Helix AI engineering postings list $200,000 to $400,000. The lowest published annual range was $80,000 to $105,000, for a Production Lead on the swing shift.
Does Figure AI hire remote workers?
Not on its board today. We found 0 remote postings among the 104. Most roles say San Jose, with site teams in Reno, Los Angeles and Fontana, California. The data-creator program Figure describes in its “Index” announcement is a separate app, not a job posting.
Does Figure AI have internships?
Five Fall 2026 internships were open on September 22, 2026, all in San Jose, at $35 to $45 an hour. Three of them mention a degree program in a related field.
Why do some Figure postings look old?
Some are standing jobs that never close. The oldest open posting, a Helix AI Engineer in perception, was first published on November 15, 2022. The morning-shift robot operator job has been open since September 25, 2024. An old date on these roles does not mean the job is dead.
